Updated: The District receives extension, irks City Council liaison
For the third time, the JEA Board has extended the deadline for the developers behind The District — a 30-acre riverfront development along the bank of the St. Johns River — which drew the ire of the City Council liaison for the publicly owned utility.
“I think its disrespectful of the process and any other developer would have already gone vertical,” City Councilman Matt Schellenberg said. “This is not the way to go. Three years is plenty of time.”
