Simon wins court order to keep Starbucks from closing Teavana locations; appeal planned
A judge in Indiana recently ordered Starbucks to keep 77 Teavana stores open at Simon Property Group Inc. malls around the country.
Simon, the country’s largest shopping mall operator, sued in August after Starbucks announced its plan to close all 379 Teavana stores over the next year due to underperformance.
Starbucks said it is disappointed in the judge’s ruling and is appealing the court’s order.
“Our focus continues to be on finding resolution,” the company said in an email.
