Report: Judge rules in favor of developer in suit over Palo Alto grocery store site

Arguing over semantics rarely turns out fruitful, but developer Sand Hill Property Co. this month showed that sometimes fighting over the tiny details can pay off.

The local developer on Dec. 15 won one part of a drawn-out battle with Palo Alto officials over fines the company paid for allegedly violating an ordinance that required it to find a grocer to operate a 20,600-square-foot site in the Edgewood Plaza Shopping Center at 2170 W. Bayshore Road, according to a report by Palo Alto Online.
