Oakland struggles with keeping economic diversity
James Robinson spent 15 years in Seattle before taking a job in Oakland two years ago.
“I love Seattle in so many ways. Seattle was very good to me,” Robinson said. “But as a person of color, especially as an executive, it was hard. It was really hard. I worked for Amazon for many years and I was there when the company had massive growth and I was like the only (person of color) in most situations and that never feels good.”
