From the editor: Silicon Valley's 17 most consequential stories of 2017
2017 was a bit of a strange year in Silicon Valley.
It had plenty of prosperous companies, but none that really broke out to consume our attention. It had its fair share of controversies, some that might consume more than a few careers. And it struggled to find its footing in the first year of a new Republican administration in Washington that was pro-business but anti-Valley.
