Amazon now owns twice as much office space as it did in 2016
Amazon.com Inc. significantly increased the Seattle company’s worldwide office footprint in the last year, doubling the space it owns and bulking up its leased space by 39 percent.
Amazon owned 14 million square feet of office space as of Dec. 31, according to the company’s most recent annual report, up from 7.2 million square feet at that point the previous year. The company leases nearly 240 million square feet, which was up from 172 million square feet the previous year.
